Subject Description
This course has been designed to introduce the student to Building Systems Technology programs, and to address key gaps in fundamental skills that have been identified as being common to many students entering the program.  Sound problem solving skills are foundational to all areas of the program.  This course focuses on data handling, manipulation and representation.

Credit Status
One subject credit.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. recognize general career opportunities specific to the BST and MBT programs.
2. describe personal abilities and limitations with regard to various building subsections.
3. apply critical program-specific areas of math and physics.
4. communicate using basic engineering sketching and drawing techniques.
5. apply a systematic approach to problem solving in accordance to engineering standards.

Communicate clearly, concisely and correctly in the written, spoken and visual form that fulfils the purpose and meets the needs of the audience.
