GBM703 - Sustainable Management

Through this course, students learn foundational skills to become tomorrow's green business leaders. Students explore the principles, values, and best business practices of industry leaders in a wide array of sectors, including construction, transportation, manufacturing, food production and distribution. Students familiarize themselves with industry and association standards, current Green certification processes, and sustainable business practices. Case studies and guest speakers provide students with the knowledge to Green the supply chain of a current or future business or workplace.

GBM800 - Eco-Productivity in the Workplace II

Building on Eco-productivity in the Workplace I, students engage in field work with industry experts, and liaise with a community business or non-governmental organization. Students perform a Green report card, and communicate the environmental and cost-saving benefits of becoming an eco-efficient workplace. Students conclude the course with a presentation of audit findings and recommendations to a business owner, non-governmental organization, or industry specialist.

GBM801 - Leadership and Managing Sustainable Change

Without strong leadership from all points within a company, culture cannot change. With a focus on effective communication, students will understand the need for sustainable leadership. Change process and the practices of sustainability champions will be explored. Personal and organizational, leadership models will be examined through lecture, cases, film, self assessment and discussion.

GBM803 - Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Business


Business plans come in a wide variety of formats that serve many purposes, from testing the feasibility of new ideas to convincing investors of the potentials for success.  Students will apply different tools as they create a comprehensive formal business plan for a new venture that promotes sustainable practices and meets a market demand for a green products or services.  Students will deliver a professional presentation of their proposal for a new business venture.
