General Policy

Seneca Students with a 2-Year Diploma: Applicants who have completed a two-year program who have achieved a cumulative average of ‘B’ or better will be considered for admission with advanced standing to a maximum of 18 credits.

Seneca Students with a 3-Year Diploma: Applicants who have completed a three-year program who have achieved a cumulative average of ‘B’ or better will be considered for admission with advanced standing to a maximum of 30 credits.

Seneca Students with one year of College or Certificate Program Graduates: Applicants who have completed the first full year (two semesters) of a college diploma program or graduates of a one-year (two semesters) certificate program with a cumulative average of “B” or better will be considered for admission on probation. Students will not be eligible for advanced standing. Program specific subject requirements must still be met in order to be considered for some programs.


Seneca Program: Accounting and Finance - (Optional Co-op), Business Administration - Accounting & Financial Planning - (Optional Co-op), Business Administration - Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Business Administration - Financial Planning - (Optional Co-op), Business Administration - Human Resources - (Optional Co-op), Business Administration - Management, Business Administration - Purchasing and Supply Management, Business Administration - Retail Management, International Business Administration - (Optional Co-op)

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration

Graduates with a cumulative average of ‘B+’ (3.5 GPA) or better will be considered for admission with advanced standing to a maximum of 60 credits (2 years).


Seneca Program: Early Childhood Education

Degree: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education

Graduates with a minimum cumulative ‘B’ average (3.0 GPA) are eligible for admission with advanced standing to a maximum of 30 credits (5 full courses/ 1 year). Applicants are also eligible for Nipissing’s Orientation to Teaching for ECE graduates, which is a route into the one year Bachelor of Education degree program.


Seneca Program: Early Childhood Education

Degree: Concurrent Bachelors of Arts (Honours) in Child and Family Studies/Bachelor of Education

Graduates with a minimum cumulative ‘B’ average (3.0 GPA) are eligible for admission with advanced standing to a maximum of 32 credits (5 full undergraduate courses and 2 education course credits).


Seneca Program: Law Clerk, Police Foundations

Degree: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminal Justice (Corrections Stream or Policing Stream)

Applicants who have successfully completed these two year diploma programs with a cumulative average of “B+” (3.5 GPA) or better can be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice program (Corrections or Policing) with advanced standing to a maximum of 42 credits (7 full courses). Other programs can be applied to with a “B” average and a maximum of 30 credits of advanced standing granted.


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker - Gerontology, Social Service Worker - Immigrants and Refugees, Social Service Worker

Degree: Bachelor of Arts

 

Graduates with a cumulative ‘B’ average (3.0 GPA) or better will be considered for admission to a Bachelor of Arts program with advanced standing to a maximum of 30 credits (5 full courses/1 year).
*Meeting the minimum requirements will not guarantee admission to programs.
