Stage 3: Work Experience
In this final phase of the Work on Track program, students have the opportunity to participate in an unpaid work "trial." This provides the opportunity
for them to develop new skills or upgrade old skills, explore potential work environments in a safe way, gradually immerse into the working world, gain current
references, or simply try something new and different!
How it works:
- Each placement is individually designed to suit the student's specific interests and strengths.
- The work settings are mutually sourced and secured by the student and an employment specialist at Work on Track.
- During this 12 week period, students receive support and guidance from both their Work Trial supervisors and the Work on Track staff.
Where the work experiences take place:
In the past, students have secured work placements in:
- Banks
- Non-Profit and Social Service Agencies
- Small Businesses
- Private, For-Profit Businesses and Corporations
- Educational Institutions
