Seneca becomes first Canadian college to sponsor ihaveanidea’s Portfolio Night 7– world’s largest advertising portfolio review

Toronto, May 13, 2009 - For the first time ever, a Canadian college is partnering with ihaveanidea to help stage Portfolio Night 7 in Toronto, an evening that brings young advertising hopefuls together with industry leaders to receive critiques of their work, advice, and possibly a job offer.

Portfolio Night will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Toronto production company Rooster Post. Portfolio Night 7 is a worldwide event, with reviews taking place simultaneously in 28 cities around the globe.

As the educational sponsor of Portfolio Night 7 in Toronto, Seneca is supporting advertising education and the industry its graduates serve.

“Seneca’s reputation in providing leading advertising education on both the strategic and creative side has grown significantly in the last decade,” says Anthony Kalamut, Coordinator of Seneca’s Creative Advertising Program. “Portfolio Night 7 is a tremendous opportunity for our students and graduates to get out there and meet people working in the roles they aspire to, and we are very proud to be the educational sponsor of an event that fosters and nurtures the talent of tomorrow.”

Seneca’s reputation for providing excellence in advertising education has been helped along by the awards garnered by graduates of the program.

Dan Bache, a 2005 graduate of Seneca’s Creative Advertising Program, was named along with a colleague as the winner of the Grand Prix for the National Advertising Awards Cannes Young Creatives, Print category, and will represent Canada at the Cannes advertising festival in June.
