IRIS The Visual Group establishes scholarship for Seneca Opticianry students
Toronto, May 3, 2012 – IRIS The Visual Group is investing in the next generation of opticians with a commitment of $10,000 to establish an annual scholarship for Seneca students in the Opticianry Diploma program.
“We are so pleased that IRIS The Visual Group has invested in the future of eye care with this donation,” said Linda Wren, co-ordindator of the full-time Opticianry Diploma program. “Each year, for the next five years, two graduating Seneca Opticianry students will benefit from their commitment to the education of future opticians.”
The scholarship will be given to one full-time and one part-time student graduating from the Opticianry Diploma program for the next five years. Recipients will be selected by faculty and administrators based on high academic standing.
“IRIS is proud to recognize the achievements of these young graduates,” said Dr. Daryan Angle, vice president of professional relations, IRIS. “They represent the future leaders of the eye care industry in Canada and we’re excited to support them as they embark on their new career.”
