How do we access our Seneca email account?
You will have received a username and password with your acceptance package. To activate your account, you first have to agree to the terms and conditions of the College’s online Information Technology Acceptable Use (ITAU). Once you do that, you’ll be directed to the Login page. Look for the Activate my account button and follow the onscreen instructions. To activate your account, make sure you have your student identification number, date of birth and postal code handy. Start on the ITAU webpage. There's also help online or contact the Student Service Desk at 416.493.9867.
What if I have questions about using all the functions of Blackboard/SIRIS?

How does the parking system work at Seneca?
Entry to Seneca parking lots at King, Markham and Newnham are controlled by access gates. There’s several ways to pay for parking, but the most convenient way is to purchase a parking plan and have it linked to your OneCard. It allows in-and-out privileges during the day, and it means you won’t have wait in line at pay stations when your classes are done. Parking at Seneca@York Campus is maintained by York University. Its rates and rules are available at the university's Parking Services website.
More informaiton on parking at Seneca is available online.
What does a semester parking pass cost?
The semester plan linked to a OneCard costs $328.80 and provides unlimited in and out access at any Seneca operated parking lot for the duration of an individual’s parking plan at any Seneca operated parking lot. There are other payment options available as well.
What is a OneCard and where can I get it?
The OneCard is your student ID card. You can use it for photo identification, to access Seneca Libraries’ services and load it with funds to purchase meal plans, parking plans, printing, photocopying and bookstore items. If you’re coming to Orientation, you’ll be able to get your card then. OneCard offices are located at King, Markham, Newnham and Seneca@York campuses.
Is there any way to find out where the classrooms are located?
Room numbers will be slightly different, depending on the campus. However, as a general rule, here is how to read them:
- Location: A1201
- The "A" refers to building the classroom is in.
- The first digit refers to the level or floor.
- The remaining digits are the classroom number.
- In this case, this class is in Building A, 1st floor in room 201.
How do you access Seneca’s Wi-Fi?
QuickConnect is the easiest way to connect wirelessly to the College’s new super fast and secure SeneNET-Extreme Wi-Fi network. With QuickConnect, whenever you’re at King, Markham, Newnham or Seneca@York, you’ll automatically be connected to SeneNET-Extreme without having to log in. How to get QuickConnect.
What is Skills Assessment testing?
New Seneca students need to make an appointment to write the Skills Assessment test, even if you’ve already written a pre-admissions test. The test will help us determine the best level of English, and for some programs math, for you to study. Getting your first-semester timetable depends on a completed assessment. How to book your appointment
I can see my timetable on SIRIS, but haven’t received a copy in the mail. Why?
Timetables are only mailed to new students. If you do not receive your timetable in the mail it could be because you have not completed your Skills Assessment test or your tuition fees have not been paid. It is also available on SIRIS.
Returning students will be able to access their timetables on SIRIS.
My timetable does not have all my classes on it, why?
Your timetable may not have all of your courses on it, if you have not completed a Skills Assessment test. If you have, please contact registration directly to inquire. Please go to your program page on Seneca’s website and click “Contact Us” to find your Registration & Records contact.
For returning students, classes may be missing on your timetable if you don’t have the necessary pre-requisite(s). If you paid your fees late, you will need to create your own timetable on SIRIS.
I haven’t completed my English and/or math assessment test. When can I do them? Does that mean I won’t get my schedule?
You may not get your complete timetable until you have completed your assessment test(s). You can book your test online.
