Modes of Instruction

This subject will be taught in a classroom instructional mode utilizing lecture and lab assignments.  Students are expected to have reviewed the text material prior to class.

Term Test and Lab Tests

Test dates are disclosed in the “Detailed Course Outline”.  There are no makeup tests unless you have a medical reason. If you have a medical reason you will need to present a medical document, in a prescribed format when required, to the Professor. Please remember this information will be validated and if found to be false this will be deemed as Academic dishonesty.

SeneLab Tools, a software application developed by Seneca College, is used to download files, where applicable, and to upload files (your answers) at the end of a test. There are exercises in class to practice downloading and uploading files. 

The student will take full responsibilities to ensure that
1.1. he/she can properly download and upload files using SeneLab Tools,
1.2. he/she has uploaded (submitted) his/her answer(s), as required, using SeneLab Tools,
1.3. the files (answers) uploaded are not corrupted.
No assistance will be available in this respect during a test.

If the files (answers) that a student uploads are corrupted, the test will not be marked resulting a zero and there is no make-up test.

It is required that test files are uploaded on time at the end of a test.  Late submissions will not be accepted. 

Supplementary Information

Upon the successful completion of the course, the student may be interested in applying for the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist: Microsoft Office Excel 2007 certificate (MCAS certificate) by taking the exam offered by Microsoft.  Please see the following site; http://www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/77-602.mspx for further information.
