Recruitment and Selection


It is the policy of Seneca College to attract, recruit, retain and promote the most talented local, national and international people to achieve its mission and vision and to increase its reputation as a premier employer.

The college will implement transparent, effective and efficient processes that hire and promote candidates who share and demonstrate the college’s values and possess the required competencies for the position.

The college will initiate strategic and proactive steps to ensure its competitive advantage by supporting a workforce that is highly qualified, diverse, innovative, flexible and committed to the highest academic and service standards.

ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES

The college’s recruitment and selection procedures will:

  • Recruit support staff, faculty and administrators with the appropriate values and competencies to meet the college’s needs;
  • Ensure that persons hired to academic/teaching positions have the appropriate qualifications or are working towards an appropriate qualification/designation;
  • Pursue applicants/candidates to support its commitment to diversity;
  • Develop and enhance the college’s reputation as an employer, educator and service provider.

The Office of the Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible for ensuring that all recruitment and selection processes are implemented in accordance with the college’s strategic plan, values, legislative requirements, contractual obligations and other relevant processes/policies.
