A103: Alumni Student Government Leadership Award
The Seneca College Alumni Association has established an annual award for Student Government leaders. Applicants must have:
- Served two (2) or more semesters on any one of the Student Government councils;
- Demonstrated outstanding leadership in enhancing the quality of student life at Seneca;
- Represented the College and/or Student Government through a relationship or activity with an external organization or group (including volunteerism);
- Maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0; and
- Demonstrated financial need.

A104: APC/ACC Leadership Awards
The Seneca Student Federation Incorporated (SSF Inc.) representing all Seneca student governments will annually present awards to students who have demonstrated a unique or outstanding contribution towards improving the quality of student life at the college. A105: Atkinson Charitable Foundation Bursary
Award to assist a student in any diploma/certificate program.
A106: Baker & Baker/Seaboard Life Insurance Bursary
Award to assist a student who has completed one semester in a diploma or certificate program.
A107: The Bruce Berman Alumni Bursary
Awards to students of Native ancestry enrolled in full-time programs at Seneca College. In order to be eligible for this award, the students must have successfully completed their first year of studies with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and have demonstrated financial need.
A108: Campus Living Centres Inc. Academic Award
Campus Living Centres Inc. annually presents an award to two registered full-time students; one living in the Newnham campus residence and one living in the King campus residence. The recipients must maintain a C+ (65%) or better average and be able to demonstrate his or her contribution to student life at the college through direct involvement in at least two of the following areas:
- Social activities organized through recognized student bodies such as student governments, clubs and formalized residence groups;
- Sporting activities, such as intramurals, varsity athletics, and residence organized events;
- Academic and educational activities such as tutoring, organized study groups, educational campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
Students employed by Campus Living Centres are not eligible for this award. Students can obtain applications for this award from the front desk of either residence. This award is presented at the annual Student Leadership Award Ceremony.
A109: Chawkers Foundation Bursary
Awards to assist financially needy students registered in any diploma or certificate program.
A111: Friends of Seneca Association Bursaries
Awarded to students enrolled in any full-time program of study. Candidates may be nominated by Seneca staff or faculty or apply independently through the Financial Aid Office. Selection will be made by the College Awards Committee based on a combination of demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and dedication to academic endeavours.
A112: General Bursary Fund
Awards to assist students registered in any diploma or certificate program, who have successfully completed at least one semester of study.
A113: Governor General's Academic Medal
Awarded to a student who achieves the highest academic standing in the final year of a fulltime post-secondary diploma program. Candidates will be recommended by Faculty to the Awards Committee who will make the final selection.
A114: International Student Award
Bursaries to assist international students who have completed at least one semester of a post-secondary diploma or certificate program.
A116: Loretta Yaskiel Second Chance Endowed Bursary
Awarded to a student enrolled in the College Opportunities Program. Preference is given to a student who has good academic performance, demonstrated commitment to working to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their career/educational goals, good work ethic and attitude. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents, have demonstrated financial need and completed at least one semester of study. Selection will be made on faculty members’ recommendation. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who volunteer in the college or in the community, verified by a letter of reference.

Bursary to assist a student in any fulltime program.
A118: Michael McKenzie Scholarship
Award designed to encourage and assist those with Sickle Cell Anemia in their decision to undertake post-secondary study at Seneca College. Contact the Financial Aid Office, Newnham Campus, for a separate application form.
A119: W. T. Newnham Leadership Award
This trophy and award is presented to a student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the enhancement of the quality of student life at Seneca College. A minimum GPA of 2.5, plus outstanding leadership related to a short term project or a yearlong activity will be the major criterion. Students are nominated by Seneca staff and must have demonstrated their ability to function as a leader of student leaders. The recipient is selected by a selection committee chaired by the Director, Student Services. The award is presented at the annual Student Leadership Award Ceremony. A120: Olympia and York Achievement Bursary
Awarded to assist a student registered in any diploma/certificate program.
A121: Stephen E. Quinlan Award
The Seneca Student Federation Inc. will annually present a trophy and award created to recognize and honour retired President, Stephen E. Quinlan. A large trophy with the name of each year's winner will be displayed at the college and the winner will receive a replica trophy as a keepsake.
Any Seneca employee may nominate a student for the award by submitting a letter of nomination to Student Services. The major criteria for the award include:
- Academic achievement (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0);
- Significant contribution to assisting other students in a voluntary capacity;
- Contribution to assisting others in the community beyond Seneca College;
- Demonstration of strong personal integrity, sound character and tenacity.

A122: The Sandy Sandomierski Bursary
Award is open to any Seneca College day student enrolled in a fulltime post-secondary or tuition short program. Selection is based on academic performance with a strong emphasis on excellence and on financial need.
A123: SABE Scholarship
Awarded to students who are members of the Seneca West Indian African Association (SWIAA) and/or enrolled in the College Opportunities program and have demonstrated financial need. Selection is based on academic achievement (GPA of 3.0 or above), leadership skills and community involvement.
A126: Peter N. Ross Scholarship
The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing, financial need and their contribution to Seneca College student life. Applicants should attach a summary of their achievements to their application form.
A127: Isabel Jones Bursary
An award to assist a student registered in any diploma or certificate program.
A129: Seneca College Alumni Association Bursaries
Awarded to assist students enrolled in any diploma or certificate program, who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and have demonstrated financial need. Awards are available in all three semesters.
A130: Stephen E. Quinlan Next Generation Bursary
Awarded to the child of a Seneca College Alumni Association member who is pursuing a fulltime diploma or post-diploma program, who has a minimum GPA of 3.0; and has demonstrated financial need.
A131: Seneca Cup
The most prestigious College award is the Seneca Cup. This award acknowledges academic proficiency and contributions made toward improving the quality of student life at the College. Any graduating student enrolled in a certificate, diploma or degree program demonstrating the following characteristics is eligible for nomination:
- Ability and scholastic achievement
- Personal integrity/sound and good character
- Contribution to others and to the community
- Involvement in student life (e.g. sports, recreation, student government, peer tutoring, etc.)
- Proven ability to balance personal responsibilities and school involvement
- Will graduate from the program in the semester that they have been nominated.
A132: Seneca College Teaching Masters Association Bursary
Awarded to assist financially needy sole support parents registered in any fulltime post-secondary program.
A133: Sheppard Campus SFC Academics Award
This award is open to any student enrolled in the second or third year of a fulltime program based on academic achievement - minimum GPA of 3.5. Applicants must demonstrate leadership (supported by a letter of recommendation from a Seneca staff member), initiative and dedication to academics. A134: Donald Sim Scholarship
Past member of the Seneca College Board of Governors, this award will be presented to a student for his/her academic achievement, involvement in extra-curricular college activities and personal qualities.
A135: Kris Singh Award
Awarded to assist a student enrolled in any program. Candidate will be recommended by faculty.
A136: Snap Studios Inc. Award
Award is given to an international student in any fulltime program who has displayed financial need.
A137: Student Life Achievement Scholarships Leadership
Financial awards will be presented to students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in student government, campus clubs, the College newspaper, radio station, or special events of a cultural or artistic nature. Students with outstanding contributions to their community are also eligible. The applicants must have achieved high academic standing throughout the semester. ACL Student Benefits, the Student Health, Dental and Extended Health Plan insurance broker, will annually present two awards to students who have shown outstanding leadership. to the recipients of this award must have maintained a GPA of 2.5 while making significant contributions to the Seneca community or their community. This award recognizes a student who is the "unsung hero", someone who quietly works behind the scenes to make Seneca a better place while still maintaining their academics and juggling other responsibilities. The Seneca Student Federation Incorporated will annually present an award to a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership in the enhancement of student life at Seneca College. This award was created to recognize and honour retired Seneca Vice-President, International and Business Development, Wayne Norrison , for his many years of outstanding leadership and support for the SSF Inc. Any Seneca student (excluding SSF Inc. council members) may apply for this award to recognize leadership related to student life at Seneca. Applicants must have achieved high academic standing throughout the semester. A letter of recommendation from a Seneca staff member who has observed the leadership activity is required. A150: Vicki Milligan Carter Award
The Vicki Milligan Carter Leadership Award was created by the SSF Inc. to honour a long time employee of Seneca College on the date of her retirement. A former faculty member, Departmental Chair, Director of Student Services and voting member on the SSF Inc. Board of Directors, Vicki's zest to improve student life, assist anyone in need and to make Seneca a better place spoke volumes of her commitment to everything Seneca.
This award is open to any Seneca student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who has shown academic achievement, leadership, commitment to people and a zest for all things Seneca. A151: SMILE Mentoring Program Leadership Award
One award to be presented annually to a SMILE mentor. Applicants must have:
- Served as a SMILE mentor for two or more semesters (including the current semester)
- Demonstrated leadership and contribution toward the enhancement of student life at Seneca College
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Candidates must apply for this award and provide a letter of reference from a full time faculty or staff member of Seneca College. Your letter of reference cannot be a SMILE staff member. SMILE Mentors may submit applications directly to one of the SMILE office locations by February 1 of each year. A selection committee will review the candidates’ applications and candidates may be interviewed by the committee. A162: Seneca College Board of Governors' Entrance Scholarships
Awarded to students entering Seneca College directly from high school based on high academic standing in their final year. Emphasis is placed on the academic subjects English, Mathematics and Sciences at the Grade 12 level.
A169: George Terry Endowed Bursary
One award will be given to a second, third or fourth year full-time student. Preference will be given to a student athlete who has volunteered or worked with inner city communities/priority neighbourhoods, members of at risk communities or new immigrants. Selection will be made by the Faculty members based on the stated criteria. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.
A170: Newcomer Award in Honour of Jack & Ann Talesnick
Awarded to any full-time or part-time student who is designated as a permanent resident (verifiable) with honour-list standing in at least one semester. May be awarded as an in-course or graduating award.
A171: Campus Living Centres Bursary
Awarded to a student upon the successful completion of their first year of academic studies. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated financial need.
A172: Seneca College Alumni Association Entrance Awards
Awarded to first year full-time students enrolled in any program. Selection is based on high academic achievement. Additional consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated commitment to volunteerism and community service. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.
A173: Xerox Canada Endowed Bursary
Awarded to a first or second year student enrolled in any program with high academic standing (cumulative min GPA 3.0) and demonstrated financial need.
A174: Susie Vallance Award for First Generation Students in Post-Secondary Studies
Awarded to one first year student who is the first in their family to attend post-secondary studies. Eligible applicants will have a minimum 2.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, have a commitment to community or college leadership initiatives.
A175: Students Leading by Example Awards
The Students Leading By Example Award was created and is funded by Amar Sidhu, former President of the SSF Inc., President SSF Newnham and Vice President SSF King to recognize those students in leadership positions at the College that have shown marked growth and improvement during their time in a leadership role. This award is open to any Seneca student who has a minimum GPA OF 2.5 and who has shown great commitment to Seneca while continuing to improve and enhance their leadership skills.
A176: Seneca Retirees Association Endowed Bursary
Awarded to a mature student over the age of 24 years, who is enrolled in the second year of any program and has a minimum GPA of 2.5. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need. Selection will be made by the College Award Committee based on the stated criteria.
A177: Student Ambassador Award
An award for students who meet the following criteria:
- Has worked two or more semesters (including the current semester) as a Student Ambassador.
- Has fulfilled all the requirements of their position description consistently and effectively.
- Is an outstanding team player.
- Has contributed, supported and promoted the Student Services Department and its objectives.
- Has represented the Student Services department with honour, integrity and professionalism to the Seneca community.
- Has demonstrated initiative and leadership above and beyond their regular duties that has enhanced the value of the Student Ambassador Program.
A178: Ermine Drummond Second Chance Endowed Bursary
Awarded to a student enrolled in the College Opportunities Program. Preference is given to a student who has good academic performance, demonstrated commitment to working to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their career/educational goals, good work ethic and attitude. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents, have demonstrated financial need and completed at least one semester of study. Selection will be made on faculty members’ recommendation. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who volunteer in the college or in the community, verified by a letter of reference.
A179: Bill Hogarth Award for Student Success
Awarded to a full-time student in any program who demonstrates high academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.0 based on first semester results) and leadership in the classroom, as recommended by the College faculty. Preference will be given to Seneca students who attended a public secondary school in York Region District School Board (see Appendix A). The final selection will be made by the Awards Committee of Seneca College.
A180: Passion 4 Dreams College Opportunities Award
One award is given to a student enrolled in the College Opportunities Program. Preference is given to a student who has good academic performance, demonstrated commitment to working to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their career/educational goals, good work ethic and attitude. Eligible students must have demonstrated financial need and completed at least one semester of study. Selection is made by faculty members.
A181: Patricia Kemp Memorial Bursary
Awarded to a student enrolled in the College Opportunities Program. Renewable Entrance Scholarships available to International Students from Europe. A189: Cindy Hazell Award for Non-Direct Full-Time Students
Awarded to a non-direct full-time student in any post-secondary credential program. Non-direct is defined as students who have been out of high school for at least one year prior to enrolling at Seneca. Students who have taken one or more high school courses in the past year, including night school or correspondence courses, are not eligible. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.
A190: Building Your Future Bursary
Awarded to a full-time student enrolled in last year of his/her program. Selection is based on demonstrated financial need.
B101: The Andrew Lindup Award of Excellence
Awards to be given to the best all-round students graduating from the Underwater Skills program at King Campus.
B106: Jim Smith Memorial Award
Awarded to the best all round student in the Veterinary Technician program.
B111: Veterinary Technician Program Bursary
Awarded to assist a student registered in the Veterinary Technician program.
B112: The John D. Laing Bursary
Awarded to a second year students enrolled in Seneca's Veterinary Technician program (King Campus). The recipient will be selected by the Faculty based upon the following criteria:
- Second year student enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program
- Sound academic standing and completion of the program's first year
- Above average dedication, compassion and caring
- Demonstrated leadership and volunteer involvement in the community
- Demonstrated financial need

Awarded equally to two students upon successful completion of his or her first year of academic studies in the Opticianry program. Students must demonstrate financial need.
B114: Iris the Visual Group - Experience Better Vision Award
Awarded to two students graduating from the Opticianry Diploma Program. One student will be selected from the full-time program and another from the part-time, continuing education program. Recipient shall have high academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.5).

Awarded to assist a financially needy, mature, female student enrolled in any diploma program offered at the King Campus. Applicants must be in the second year of their program, involved in the school environment, a Canadian citizen and a resident of York Region.

Awarded to assist a student at King Campus with preference given to the individual who has demonstrated a willingness to assist his/her peers.

Awarded to assist a student registered in any diploma or certificate program at the King Campus.

Awarded to assist a King Campus student in the final year of their program.
B204: David Somerville Award
Awarded to a student enrolled in any program at King Campus. Candidate must be recommended by a Seneca staff or faculty member and attain a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 and demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation and a positive attitude toward the enhancement of King Campus life.
B206: King SAC Award
Prior to the incorporation of the Seneca Student Federation in 1999, the King Student Administrative Council established an award to assist students in second, third or fourth year of their program, and to assist graduating students. Students must demonstrate leadership qualities through active contributions to the development of the King Campus community, as well as maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. This award, based on academic merit and financial need, will assist deserving students registered fulltime in the Recreation and Leisure Services program. Recipient will be selected by the Faculty.
B401: The Golf Course Technician Alumni Award
Awards to second year Golf Course Technician students based on financial need, academic achievement and success in the field during their Co-op work placement.
B402: Wyatt Tyszka Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student in the second year of the Environmental Landscape Management Program. The candidate, to be recommended by Faculty, should exhibit qualities of honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
B500: The American Express Corporate Services Award
Award will be given annually to a second year Tourism and Travel student who has maintained a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, has demonstrated financial need and has the ability to meet the eligibility requirements of the Amex/Seneca corporate co-op program.
B501: Carlson Wagonlit Travel Award
Award will be given on an annual basis to a Travel and Tourism student who has demonstrated positive academic achievement by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 in their first or second year, demonstrated financial need and has shown an understanding of the importance of building client relationships as part of the sales process (i.e. Does the student have the capabilities to be a sales person?).
B502: The Contiki Holidays Award
Award will be given annually to a Travel and Tourism student enrolled in their second year who has displayed financial need and maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. This student will possess (as judged by the professors) the "go-getter", outgoing/charismatic qualities that are valuable assets in the Travel and Tourism industries.
B504: The Yorkdale Scholarship - Tourism & Travel Studies
Scholarship will be given to the student showing the most improvement from the first semester to the final semester of the Tourism & Travel program. The recipient will be selected by the Faculty.
B506: Greater Toronto Hotel Association Award
Awarded to a student in the School of Tourism based on academic achievement and the recommendation of faculty in the Hospitality stream of the program.
B507: School of Tourism - Professionalism Award
Awarded to a first or second year student enrolled in the Travel & Tourism program with high academic standing (cumulative GPA 3.) and demonstrated financial need.
B508: Jarvis Michael Mascarenhas Memorial Award
This award will be given to a full-time student enrolled in any Tourism and Travel program within the School of Tourism. Selection criteria includes high academic standing as determined by faculty based on GPA, demonstrated financial need, leadership skills and caring attitude for others. Preference will be given to a student who has a passion for sports, especially soccer, as this was the sport that Jarvis Mascarenhas most enjoyed. The recommendation of a recipient will be made by faculty members based on the stated criteria.

Awarded to a final year student enrolled in the Social Service Worker program. This award is based on academic achievement, leadership qualities and participation in extra curricular activities and college life.
B601: Ejaz Meghji Memorial Bursary
Established by the family and friends of a former Seneca student, this fund is to assist deserving students in the Social Service Worker program.
B603: Walker Wood Foundation Social Work (Gerontology) Award
Two awards of $1,000 each are given to second year students enrolled in the full-time Social Service Worker-Gerontology program. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens and demonstrate financial need. Selections are made by faculty members based on academic achievement (min GPA of 4.0) and involvement in community or extra-curricular activities.

Award will assist students who are registered in a fulltime ECE program. Eligible persons should have successfully completed the first year of Early Childhood Education, have demonstrated commitment to their studies and fellow students, as well as skill in their practice teaching.

C105: The Norn Garriock Award
Awarded to a student completing the second semester of the Broadcasting - Radio and Television program. Selection of the candidate will be done by the Faculty based on academic standing and personal qualities.
C106: The Bob Hesketh Memorial Award
The Bob Hesketh Memorial Award is a tuition scholarship offered to students registered in the Seneca College Broadcast Journalism program. The successful candidate will be a student in good academic standing who is also:
- Hard working and fair-minded in pursuit of his/her journalistic work
- Able to write clearly, succinctly and with a sense of humour and
- Show financial need
The recipient will receive half of the scholarship in May and the other half in September.

One or two bursaries will be granted each year. The recipient will be recommended by the Faculty based upon the following criteria: A first or second year student enrolled in the Centre for the Built Environment's Building Systems Engineering Technology program, and demonstrated academic achievement. C306: Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors Association Bursary
An endowed bursary open to third year students in the Centre for the Built Environment's Civil Engineering Technology program. The recipient will be recommended by the Faculty based on the following criteria: A third year student in the Civil Engineering Technology program with focus on environmental technologies or sewer/watermain reflected studies demonstrated academic achievement as the highest standing of the class. Recipients will be invited to attend the GTSWCA annual general meeting and dinner. Awarded to a full-time student enrolled in year one, two or three of an OACETT recognized engineering or applied science technology program (see attached list) who best exemplifies the following key precepts related to integrity and professionalism in the practice of engineering technology: a desire, willingness and passion to learn; outstanding "team player" qualities; contributions to the program’s success by assuming a leadership role and helping others; exudes a positive attitude and commitment; seeks innovative ideas and solutions. C309: Mary James Dawson Memorial Bursary
This award is given to a graduating student of one of the Building Environment Systems Class I & II certificate or Building Environment Systems Facility Manager certificate programs. The recipient will have a commitment to volunteer services with disadvantaged groups in the community. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need. The selection of a recipient will be made by faculty members.
C401: The Air Flight Technology Award
This award will be presented to a student who has demonstrated the greatest academic improvement through semesters 1 and 2 of the FPR program. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need. The recipient will be chosen by the professors of the School.
C402: The Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers (Canada) Ltd. Award
This award will be given to one FPR student in second, third or fourth year as recommended by the safety officer and agreed on by the flight line staff and Faculty. The recipient will have displayed initiative in promoting safety for pilots and aircraft at Seneca. They may have displayed this creativity by coordinating efforts of others to achieve their safety goals, publishing articles for Flight Safety Review and/or encouraging others’ involvement. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.
C404: Canadian Owners and Pilots Award
This award is presented to the student who excelled in the flying component of the FPR program as selected by the Faculty. This award includes an engraved plaque and a cheque for $100.
C405: Brian Craven Memorial Award
This award recognizes overall achievement by a student in the Flight Instructor Program or, if the F.I.T. course is not offered, to a graduating student in the FPR program. It is to be voted on by the entire Faculty of the School of Aviation and Flight Technology. It is suggested that the award be presented to a student who has not won another award.
C407: The Frasca International Award
One or more awards are presented to students who have achieved among the highest overall marks in the Commercial Pilot Written and Flight Test, Instrument Rating Written and Flight Test and the Multi Engine Flight test. He or she will have also demonstrated the effective use of resources available such as computer assisted training and flight simulators. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.
C408: The William Kent Davidge Memorial Award
One or more awards each given to a student graduating from the FPR program. Selection will be based on good all round performance in the program with emphasis on the student's enthusiasm and dedication to a career in aviation.
C409: Nicola Guarino Memorial Scholarship
One award to be made to a student graduating from the FPR program. Selection to be made by the Faculty and will be based on high academic achievement and good all round performance in the program. The award will consist of a plaque or trophy as well as a cheque of up to $300.
C410: The Sheryl Lee Memorial Award
One or more awards will be given to one or more deserving students in the FPR program on completion, who has clearly demonstrated continuous best effort in mastering the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful professional pilot. The recipient must, as Sheryl did on so many occasions, also have displayed the willingness to motivate and help others achieve their highest potential in the Aviation program. Students are encouraged to provide input into the choosing of the recipient with Faculty making the final decision.
C411: The W.J. Lewis Memorial Scholarship
An award will be given to that student who is entering the fifth semester of the FPR program and who has achieved the highest overall grade point average in the first four academic semesters of the FPR program, unless that student was awarded the Greg Szabo Memorial Award. In that case, it will be awarded to the student with the second highest grade point average.
C412: The Gerry Pinder Award
This award will be given to a graduate who shows the greatest overall improvement in their flying, academics and personal development during their academic career in the FPR program. This award recognizes the importance that Gerry placed in the aiming for and attaining of excellence in every aspect of one's life.
C413: The Frank Rock Award
One or more awards to students who are judged by the Faculty and the Chair of the School of Aviation and Flight Technology to have the greatest competence and commanded the most respect for his/her contribution to the FPR program. The award includes the inscription of the recipient's name on the Frank Rock plaque displayed at Seneca College, as well as a personal plaque commemorating the event.
C415: The J.E. Waters Award
Awards distributed based on the following criteria:
- To assist a student registered in the FPR program who excelled in the academics of semesters 1 and 2;
- To be awarded to a deserving semester student who consistently maintains a high standard in flying and academics;
- To be awarded to a deserving graduate who was able to achieve a high standard in flying through pure hard work and has demonstrated this on completion of his/her commercial pilot's license.
C416: The Ted Brown Memorial Bursary
The award is given to a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Aviation Technology program. The recipient will be recommended by faculty based on above average dedication, compassion and caring; demonstrated leadership and involvement in Seneca's student life. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.

Awarded to a student enrolled in School of Aviation & Flight Technology program. Eligible student must demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, involvement in student life and participate in varsity athletics. Selection is based on faculty recommendation.

Award is given to a graduating student in either Real Property Administration or Real Property Administration (Accelerated), who is eligible to become an AIC member. The recipient will have a high academic standing RPA112 and one or more of the additional AIC curriculum courses, has made valuable contributions in the classroom and has active interest in the field of real property as a career. The selection of a recipient will be made by faculty members.

Awarded to a graduating student in the Real Property Administration or Real Property Administration Accelerated program with above average grades in all RPA courses. Preference given to students demonstrating strong work ethic, meaningful contributions to the camaraderie and collegial nature of the class and involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Awarded to 1st semester students in RPA or RPAA. The award is to be distributed equally amongst the group members achieving the highest grade in the RPA112 Appraisal project.
D725: Allan Pierson Memorial Scholarship for Public Administration - Municipal Program
An award to a graduating student in the Public Administration, Municipal or Public Administration - Municipal Accelerated program. High standing in the four AMCTO accreditation courses; demonstrated interest in the field of Municipal government along with making valuable contributions to the classroom environment.
D726: Solidifi next Generation Scholarship
Award to an active student in good standing with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Selection based on the highest grade in RPA306.
D727: Municipal Tax Equity Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating student in the Public Administration - Municipal Program (MAP) with high academic standing in MAP 311 (Municipal Financial Management). The recipient will exhibit a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. The recipient will also maintain an exemplary class attendance record and be an active participant in day to day classroom activities. Additionally, the recipient will demonstrate an appreciation and aptitude for the theory and practice of municipal financial management.

Award to a student graduating from any Office Administration program.
D801: The A & L Computer Award
Awarded to a student in the Office Administration - Medical program. The candidate will be recommended by the Faculty and selection will be based on academic achievement, most improvement demonstrated and financial need.
D804: The Borden Ladner Gervais LLP Award
Awarded to a student graduating from the Office Administration - Legal program, who has demonstrated strong English skills specifically with regard to spelling and grammar.
D805: Captus Press Award
Award offered to a student in one of the legal programs who has demonstrated excellent academic achievement. Recipient to be selected by the Faculty.
D806: The Sandra Jorstad Memorial Award
Scholarship will be given to a mature/single parent student who will be selected by the Faculty. The student must be registered in his/her second semester and have a history of high academic standing.

Scholarship for a final year student in any one of the following programs:
- Brand Management
- Business Administration: Information Systems
- Marketing
- Marketing Administration
- Marketing Management Graduate Certificate

D901: Adworks Mailing Awards
This fund was created to support students in the Marketing and Marketing Administration programs. Annually, two awards of $175 will be issued as follows:
- One award will go to a student in the second year of the Marketing program who has successfully completed the first year with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and who has demonstrated financial need.
- The second award will go to a student in the third year of the Marketing Administration program who has successfully completed the second year with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and who has demonstrated financial need.
D902: Parmalat Canada Bursary
Awards to students in the Faculty of Marketing & e-Business at the Markham Campus. Bursaries will be awarded primarily on the basis of demonstrated academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.
D904: Victoria George Memorial Scholarship
Available to students in the second or third year of Business Marketing or Business Administration – Marketing. Criteria includes:
- leadership in the classroom and support for his/her fellow classmates' learning
- involvement and leadership in extra-curricular activities/clubs at Seneca
- good academic performance, with a gpa of at least 3.0
- a demonstrated interest in the marketing industry through participation in marketing events and initiatives
D905: Newad Scholarship
Awarded to two second year full-time students enrolled in the Creative Advertising program within the School of Media & Marketing. One award for creative stream and the other for business stream. Selection is based on highest academic achievement (min gpa of 3.5).
D906: Advertising Club of Toronto “Connector of the Class” Award
Awarded to a full-time student enrolled in the first year of the Creative Advertising Program within the School of Media & Marketing. The recipient will exhibit strong networking and relationship building skills (the Connector of the Class). The selection of a recipient will be made by faculty members. The recipient will also receive one ticket to each Advertising Club of Toronto educational event during his/her final year in the program.

Award is given to a second year Liberal Arts student who demonstrates commitment and selfless assistance to fellow students.

Scholarship to a student for academic excellence in the Liberal Arts program.
E111: Malca Litovitz Prize for Creative Writing (Bursary)
Award for creative writing to be given to a Seneca student who most demonstrates Malca's qualities of creativity and commitment to writing. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents with demonstrated financial need.

Awarded to mature students who are enrolled full-time in any program and have successfully completed a first semester English course. The recipient will be recommended by Faculty based upon above-average dedication, compassion and caring. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need.
E113: Cathy James Memorial Award
This award was established in honour and memory of former faculty member Cathy James. The recipient will be a graduating Liberal Arts diploma student pursuing undergraduate studies with the College's university partners and demonstrate financial need. In addition, the recipient will have outstanding academic performance, demonstrated compassion, and integrity, proven collegiality and sincerity and academic curiosity and intellectual passion.
F100: Counselling, Disability & Special Needs Bursary
Award to assist a student registered in the College Vocational program.
F101: The Learning Disabilities Association of North York Bursary
Awarded to assist a learning disabled student. Selection of the recipient will be made in consultation with the Counselling, Disability and Health Services Department and will be based on academic merit and financial need.
F103: The Susan Onisto Scholarship
Awarded to a student who makes the most progress in the College Vocational program.
F104: Jennifer MacKenzie Bursary
A bursary to provide financial support to a Seneca student who is legally blind, enrolled in any full-time or part-time certificate, diploma or degree program and has a demonstrated financial need.
G100: Anne Elkin Memorial Award
Award to provide financial assistance to a student enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program.
G101: Betty Hunter Memorial Scholarship
Award offered to a student registered in the Computer Studies program. Selection will be made by the co-ordinator of the program based on academic merit and demonstrated excellence in attitude and effort.

Awarded to students registered in credit courses in the Faculty of Continuing Education and Training.
G103: Jim Hilts Memorial Award
Awarded to a student in the third/fourth semester or level of the Social Service Worker program. The recipient shall demonstrate compassion and sensitivity in professional relationships as well as respect for the intrinsic worth of all persons.

Awards to assist students registered in any Faculty of Continuing Education and Training (FCET) courses.

G110: Emond Montgomery Continuing Education Law Award
Award is given three times per year to the graduating student (one award for each convocation) in Seneca's Faculty of Continuing Education and Training's Law Clerk Diploma program who has achieved the highest overall average.
G111: Captus Press Award
Award offered to the top graduating student from the Faculty of Continuing Education's Court and Tribunal Agent Diploma program.
G113: FCE Student Levy Bursary
Bursaries to assist students registered in any diploma/certificate program with the Faculty of Continuing Education and Training.
G114: Lasik MD Opticianry Scholarship
To be awarded to the top 3 students in Opticianry studies, based upon average marks. Recommended by faculty. In addition Lasik MD will provide the opportunity for each student to receive an 8 week paid position with Lasik MD for the following summer.
G115: Bridgecon Welding Skills Award
Students will be selected by faculty at the end of each semester based on the following criteria: skills demonstrated during the course, attentive participation in class, dedication to the profession and assistance provided to fellow students to help them succeed.
G116: Essilor Canada Opticianry Bursary for Part-Time Students
Awarded equally to four students upon successful completion of his or her first year of academic studies in the Opticianry program. Students must demonstrate financial need.
G117: Iris The Visual Group - Experience Better Vision Award
Awarded to two students graduating from the Opticianry Diploma Program. One student will be selected from the full-time program and another from the part-time, continuing education program. Recipient shall have high academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.5).
G120: Cindy Hazell Award for Non-Direct Part-Time Students
Awarded to a non-direct part-time student in any post-secondary credential program. Non-direct is defined as students who have been out of high school for at least one year prior to enrolling at Seneca. Students who have taken one or more high school courses in the past year, including night school or correspondence courses, are not eligible. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.
H100: Grandmaple Award of Excellence
Donated by Ms. Lisa Song, (funded by Grandland International Consulting Inc. and Beijing Oriental Human Resources Development Company Limited), this award of $1000 will be offered once per year to one international visa student from the People's Republic of China. The recipient, who must be a fulltime ELI student at Seneca College, will be selected on the basis of the highest GPA in a graduating Level 8 English Language Institute class.
H101: Hong Dong Award of Excellence
Award offered once per year to one international visa student from the People's Republic of China. The recipient, who must be a fulltime ELI student at Seneca College, will be selected on the basis of the highest GPA in a graduating Level 8 English Language Institute class.
H102: Hong Mei Award of Excellence
This award of $1000 will be offered once per year to one international visa student from the People’s Republic of China. The recipient, who must be a full-time ELI student at Seneca College, will be selected on the basis of the highest GPA in a graduating Level 8 English Language Institute class.
H103: Heather Sako Memorial Bursary
Awarded to one full-time student enrolled in the English Language Institute. Eligible applicants must be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need.
