Accounting I
A one semester subject that will introduce students to the essentials of accounting.
Topics include the balance sheet, income statement, analysis of transactions, posting ledgers, worksheets, adjustments, sub-ledgers, accounting for a merchandising business, cash control, bank reconciliations and computer applications.
Throughout the course, students will be introduced to generally accepted accounting principles.

Economics: An Overview
Economics is no longer a mysterious aspect of the world, confined to the back sections of newspapers.
In recent years, economics has become a part of our everyday conversation.
Unemployment, inflation, interest rates, federal budget deficits, the stock market, and the destiny of the dollar, free trade, Canada's competitiveness in changing global environment, all these concerns have brought economics into the centre of our lives.
In ECN550, basic economic principles will be introduced to gain a better understanding of the many economic problems and challenges facing Canada and Canadians today, in a rapidly changing global environment.

Marketing II
This subject continues from Marketing I (MRK106).
Through the use of the case study method, marketing concepts and theory are applied to real life marketing situations.
The complete marketing mix is studied in detail.
In addition, consumer behaviour, business and organizational buying behaviour, marketing research, marketing strategy planning, marketing arithmetic and evaluation of marketing opportunities are explored.
Pre-requisites: MRK106 and (EAC149 or EAC150)

Applied Business Management
This course investigates how individuals, groups and structure affect behaviour within organizations.
Discussions include: evolution of organizational structure and design; workplace productivity, employee skills and technology demands; conflict resolution and interpersonal skills; Canadian legislation and law as it relates to workplace discrimination and harassment; as well as managing change.
In addition, students develop a business plan that takes into account the major forces at work in the marketing environment.
Pre-requisites: BUS106 and MRK106

Advanced Computer Applications for Marketing
This course builds on the fundamentals of Microsoft Office covered in ICA001.
Students build their skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel to the intermediate/advanced level.
Students learn how to use PowerPoint to deliver effective presentations.
Excel topics include working with cells and cell data, managing workbooks, advanced formula creation and revision and creating and modifying graphics.
Pre-requisites: MRK106 or (MRK104 and MRK105), and ICA001

Click on the subject of your choice, click on "More Info" to read a brief outline of that subject then click on "Add Subject".
A "Subject Enrol" screen will pop up, from which you can choose the date and time that will fit around your professional subjects already timetabled.
Check your timetable to ensure you made the choice you intended.
If you change your mind, go back to the "Available Options" screen, click on "Change Your Timetable" and drop the subject selected and choose another.
