This is an introductory course which will present the main concepts and practices of management accounting.
The subject will outline the methods that are available to managers for managing, planning and controlling.
Particular attention will be paid to such topics as cost accounting fundamentals, job costing, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis.

This subject provides students with the ability to calculate and report government and third party circumstances.

Call Centre Operations - Accounting and Payroll
This subject introduces the student to a working call centre environment.
Students will understand how the call centre relates to the payroll industry and its function within an organizational structure.
In addition, students will become proficient in using call centre technology by performing hands-on exercises in a call centre lab environment.
Students are required to apply classroom theory and demonstrate the skills and techniques of communications, keyboarding, research, and customer service in practical applications.

Payroll Accounting and Technology Practicum
The purpose of the course is to provide students with an extensive hands-on, practical knowledge of accounting and payroll applications using technology as a tool.
Using source documents, students will use appropriate technology to complete a comprehensive case study on both the accounting and payroll cycles.
Students will experience payroll and accounting systems and the source standards for industry-standard payroll and accounting systems for both in-house and outsourced payroll.
Pre-requisites: ACC220 and SMS311

Accounting: Career Planning
This subject enables students in their final semester of the Accounting program to compile a database of personal information, company research and current job trends, which will assist them in conducting a successful job search.
In addition to exploring the skills and qualifications essential to obtaining a position in the accounting field, students will prepare a career development campaign which will consist of sample applications of employment, resumes and cover letters, practice interviews, and follow-up techniques.
The importance of ethics and etiquette in the workplace will also be discussed.
Students will be shown how to keep their business network alive and how to retain and build on their initial database.

Moving down the screen, look for a box entitled "General Education Options and English Subjects".
Click on the arrow to search the list of options available to you this term.
Click on the subject of your choice, click on "More Info" to read a brief outline of that subject then click on "Add Subject".
A "Subject Enrol" screen will pop up, from which you can choose the date and time that will fit around your professional subjects already timetabled.
Check your timetable to ensure you made the choice you intended.
If you change your mind, go back to the "Available Options" screen, click on "Change Your Timetable" and drop the subject selected and choose another.
