Chemical Engineering Fluid Transfer and Heat Transfer
This course focuses on the engineering principles associated with industrial process fluid and heat transfer issues.
The student will be introduced to the concepts of the turbulent and laminar flow regimes, friction losses, pipes and fittings.
Also, valve and pump types will be reviewed, with emphasis on practical industrial process applications.
In the latter portion of the course, heat transfer mechanisms (conduction, convection and radiation0 will be discussed, with emphasis on process heat exchanger applications, steam boiler and cooling tower operations.
Pr-requisites: MTH273, CMI333, and OCC443
