Corporate and Commercial Law II
This subject is a continuation of Corporate and Commercial Law I.
In this subject, students will learn about the rights and remedies of secured and unsecured creditors of a corporation and how security interests are prepared and enforced.
Students will also learn about the agency relationship and bankruptcy.
Students will learn how to carry out the steps involved in the purchase and sale of a business, both shares and assets, including a bulk sale under the Bulk Sales Act.
LXD311 -
Litigation II
This subject is a continuation of LXD211, Litigation I, examining procedural rules, proceedings, processes and documents from discovery through to trial in the Superior Court.
In addition, this subject examines special procedures including the commercial list, simplified procedure, Toronto Case Management and mandatory mediation, and commencement of appeals.
Students will also be introduced to procedures involved in personal injury claims.

Debtor Creditor Law
An introduction to debt collection procedures including commencement of proceedings, obtaining default judgment, enforcing judgments and orders, commencing and enforcing small claims court actions and documenting debt settlements.

Family Law II
This subject builds upon the substantive law base learned in Family Law I, focusing on practical skills required by law clerks in a family law practice.
This subject examines matrimonial property rights, financial statements, procedure on a property claim, separation agreements, enforcement of orders, and variation and indexing of orders.

Estates
This subject is a study of the laws and procedures relating to the making of wills and estate administration in Ontario.
The first part of this subject concentrates on the laws relating to testacy and intestacy and the basics of will-making.
The subject will then focus on all aspects of estate administration prior to obtaining a grant, letters testamentary, asset administration, passing of accounts and income tax returns.

This subject gives students an opportunity to continue to develop their Word and keyboarding skills.
Students will also be introduced to additional specialized legal software in a number of legal areas.

Field Placement I
(Law Clerk)
Students are required to fulfill field placement during which they are expected to apply, in a legal work setting, the theory gained during semesters one through three.
Placements include both block and one day per week configurations.

Field Placement II

This is a continuation of FPL330.
Students are required to complete field placement in a legal work setting to apply the theory and skills they have learned in semesters one to four and to gain work experience.
