Immigration Advisement

Immigration advisement is available by in-person or virtual appointments beginning Monday, May 20. Connect with an immigration specialist and ask questions about the temporary resident documents that are required to study at Seneca Polytechnic including, but not limited to: study permits, visas, work permits and/or Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility.

Virtual one-on-one immigration advisement

Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT

To schedule an individual appointment with an immigration specialist beginning Monday, May 20, log in to The Service Hub and book an appointment in the Student Advising tab.

In-person immigration drop-in advisement during Startup

During Startup (May 6 to May 17), no appointments are required. Advisement availability is based on a first come, first-served basis.

Hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at all four campuses in the Service Hub.

Health Insurance – Morcare Session

Social Insurance Number (SIN) Clinic

To legally work in Canada, you need a nine-digit Social Insurance Number issued by Service Canada.

At the beginning of each term, Seneca Polytechnic invites Service Canada to come to each campus to issue a SIN on the spot.

International students must register for a specific timeslot and bring their original and valid documents listed below to their appointment:

  1. A study permit issued by IRCC or CIC which indicates the permit holder "may accept employment" or "may work" in Canada.
  2. A passport.

Managing finances can be challenging. A lack of planning or knowledge can lead to negative consequences. We'll also share information on local restaurants and other fun activities, giving you a taste of what Toronto has to offer. Whether you're new to the city or looking to explore it more, this event is a great opportunity to connect with other international students and learn about Toronto from those who know it best. Local Social Activities and Trips

ISX Tours, a Toronto-based tour operator, organizes day trips and activities for international students to explore local destinations in the Greater Toronto Area and across Ontario. Activities include sporting events (e.g., Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Marlies, Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC Soccer games), trips to Canada’s Wonderland, walking tours and more. Offerings and pricing may vary month to month. Students must purchase tickets directly through ISX and meet at the designated location outlined on the website.
